Daily Prayer for Thursday, June 18, 2026 entitled: “In the Silence of the Heart”

Jesus teaches us that the Father already knows what we need. Prayer is not a competition of words but an encounter of love. Today, let us enter the silence of the heart and entrust our lives to God with the confidence of beloved children.

Good Father,
You hear even what we cannot express.
Receive the hidden voice of our hearts.

Lord Jesus,
teach us to pray with simplicity.
Free us from empty words
and make our search for You sincere.

Merciful Father,
give us hearts capable of forgiveness.
Bring down the walls of pride
and open paths of reconciliation.

Holy Spirit,
protect our trust.
When we are tired or discouraged,
remind us that we are beloved children.

And when we say,
“Our Father,”
may our whole life
become praise for Your holy name.
Amen.

EXPLANATION

In today’s Gospel (Matthew 6:7-15), Jesus invites us to authentic prayer, far from empty repetition and outward appearances. He gives us the Lord’s Prayer as the model of all Christian prayer. At its center are trust in God as Father and the call to forgive others. Those who recognize themselves as children of the Father learn to see others as brothers and sisters. True prayer transforms the heart and opens life to God’s will.

PRACTICAL APPLICATION

  1. Slowly pray the Lord’s Prayer, reflecting on each petition.
  2. Spend a few minutes in silence before God.
  3. Forgive someone who has hurt you.
  4. Entrust a concrete concern to the Lord.
  5. Thank the Father for a blessing received today.

QUESTIONS FOR REFLECTION

  1. Does my prayer come from trust or from habit?
  2. What unnecessary words can I leave aside to listen more to God?
  3. Is there someone I struggle to forgive?
  4. Do I truly see myself as a beloved child of the Father?
  5. How can I live God’s will today?
